Hello, my name is Heather
I am a Doula covering South East London & Kent

Hi, I’m Heather. I live in Greenwich, London with my 3 wonderful children and lovely dog.

Birth is one of the most incredible, life transforming experiences. My aim is to make you feel safe, supported, loved and empowered to achieve your best birth possible. You will receive my physical, emotional and practical support before, during and after birth.

I am an easy going, approachable and open-minded person who is passionate about providing care at one of the most important stages of life.

I have experienced 3 completely different births. They all arrived into this world in equally wondrous ways, but by completely different birth journeys. I found myself wishing I had been more informed before I went into labour, truly understanding the physiological motion of birth choices, how to ask the right questions, alongside being fully supported. Having this knowledge enables you to listen and trust in your body to birth.

I have worked with families for over 15 years supporting them emotionally and physically in all things birth and beyond.

I am a trained counsellor and have combined this with my love of pregnancy and birth to support women throughout this transforming experience.

I believe in the importance of supporting and protecting the caregiver-child dynamic, helping ease you into motherhood and beyond and helping to prevent postnatal depression and any difficult adjustments to family life.

My role as a doula is to guide, nourish and empower you. To quote Dr Gabor Mate, a renowned child development expert “Part of the art of parenting is just being in touch with your instincts”.

I hope to encourage you to trust in yourself and help you work through your own process, whatever they may be. Pregnancy and birth is a transformative journey, but it can be overwhelming, intimidating and lonely,

I want to create a sense of community and bring back the village spirit that’s been lost in western society.

The birth of a baby is a transformative experience which can, and should be, empowering regardless of the birth setting, whether that be a homebirth or in hospital, or type of birth, vaginal or caesarean. I am committed to supporting you achieve this through providing unconditional emotional support to help achieve the informed, empowered, and positive birth experience you deserve, to be the voice when needed, a hand to hold, to give confidence when in doubt and to make you feel safe and heard at all times.
